Why, to live!
For 'tis false life to be this paint inanimate, affixed in languid
pose. Ah, but gaze upon me now!

Mine eye doth glow,
My voice doth soar;
Mine heart, 'tis mere canvas no

Mine arms take arms.
My teeth, they teethe;
For mine sword, it can finally
unsheathe!

My strikes shall be swift
As my thoughts can arrive.

RACHEL:

private?

Then I've no need for names. I am

No.

Lancelot?

KNIGHT
No.

RACHEL
Jeff?

KNIGHT
Sir Jeff? It hardly suits.

The Knight thinks hard for a beat. There's a gleam in his
eye...

KNIGHT (CONT’D)
(with conviction)
Reginald!

MUSIC swells behind the Knight now known as REGINALD. RACHEL
is slightly disappointed.

RACHEL
(shrugs)
Fine, Reginald then.

REGINALD
This new-found name
Denotes my core;
Trite "Knight of the Realm" no
more!

'Tis so well-fit,
That I can see
The man I intend me to be!

I'll meet any foe
Who opposes my cause.

RACHEL
You won't let them go,
You'll defeat them without any
pause!

They turn to each other, sharing in the thought. MUSIC

REGINALD (SIMULTANEOUS)
New feelings grow;

I've never felt this way
before!
